This page will feature Clarence Reed McCallister (March 1882 - December 19, 1953).

John Madison's father was Andrew David (1823 - 1905) who was the seventh child of William and Jane. Andrew David married Elizabeth Duncan (1834 - 1913). They had eight children, the 2nd of whom was John Madison.

Clarence Reed was 1 of the 4 children of John Madison McCallister & Martha (Mattie) Wise (1860 - 1939). His parents had become married in 18??. His 3 siblings were Henry Alexander (1883 - 1966), Lucy Emma (1887-1947), & Elizabeth Alma (1889-1980). As means to survive John was a farmer and boat builder, and he lived many places in both Putman and Mason countys.

The father of Clarence (1882-1953) was John Madison McCallister. On Christmas Eve 1901 Clarence and Inez Luvenia Tucker (1881-1932) were married by B. F. Robertson (Minister of the Gospel) at his residence in Putnam County near Bills Creek. They had 5 children: Jessie Ray (1903-1907), Iva Mae (1905-1967), Ezra Lee (7/31/1908 - 1978), Beulah (1910-1981) and Estil C. (1914-March 6, 1995). He was a farmer all his life. The left picture is (from left to right) Clarence, Iva, Inez. The right one is Clarence at a later age. Because their first child, Jessie Ray, died at an early age, little information is available on him. Since Inez passed away at an early age, Iva took on being mother to her brothers and sister. Since Iva's mother passed away at an early age she took on being mother to her brothers and sister. Consequently, she was the last to get married. She married Burl Allen Mitchell (1884-1967) in ????. They never had any children. Both Iva & Burl worked in St Albans on West Main. She in Thornton's Grocery Store & he sold insurance and real estate in a little office on the bank at the head of Coal River Road. They are both buried in Teays Hill Cemetery almost right behind where his office was. They passed away 27 days apart not knowing the other was sick. WHEN DID IVA GET MARRIED?

Ezra McCallister was a son of Clarence. He met Beulah Elizabeth Bean(e?) (10/1/19__-2???) at Rehobath Baptist Church. After being married, they attended Judson Baptist Church. They had 6 childern, Delmar Lee (8-22-19__-2___), Wendell Frank (7/17/19__-????), Janet G. (4/19__ - ????), Mae Alice (4/9/19__-????), Paul Edwin (Paul Eddie) (12/6/19__-????), and Karen Sue (1/18/19__-????). He began working for Westvaco in 1944 & retired from the same company in 1970, but it was under a different name, MBC. She worked at Workers Compensation. She really enjoys quilting & has a Himalayan kitty (age 13 years old) to keep her company. She also collects frogs (the non-living kind). WHEN WERE THEY MARRIED? Delmer McCallister met Patrica (Pat) Stokes (19__-????) at school in Winfield. They were married on 8/14/1958. They had 3 sons, John V. McCallister (1/9/19__-????), David Mark McCallister (12/31/19__-????), and Joseph S. McCallister (10/5/19__-????). Although he was born in Winfield, with the tough times in the Charleston area Delmar moved to Parkersburg, WVa in 1961 to pursue gainful employment and liked the area so well that he stayed. In 1982 he moved to OH which was about 20 miles away (just across the Ohio river). He retired at age 55 from General Electric as a Material Manager, took a job in Dyersburg, TN and worked there for 2 years just for the fun of it then retired again, and returned back to Ohio. He & his 3 sons all live close to each other, that is about 80 miles from Winfield, WVa and about 45 minutes from Crown City, OH. Estil C. was an offspring of Clarence McCallister. He married Nellie C. Johnson (????-????) in ????. They had 3 childern, 2 sons & a daughter. The first born was son Clarence Brent (Brent) McCallister (19??-????), next came daughter Hope Elaine McCallister (????-2), and the last child was Keith Wayne McCallister (7/28/1950 - 3/20/1996). Estil retired as a mechanic supervisor from a chemical plant, American Viscoe, after working there for 29 years. He was born in Winfield,WVa & passed away in a nursing home. WHEN WAS HE MARRIED?
