This picture is of George Washington McCallister & his wife Alice Rose
George followed his brother William (Will) to Putnam County where he worked most of his life as a foreman & manager for Captain Thompson on the Thompson Farm (the John Amos Power Plant is located there today).
George & Alice bought their own farm later, which was the first farm on Bills Creek, Putnam County. George was preparing a tobacco bed in March of 1922 and got too hot by the fire: the cold March wind gave him pneumonia.
Now George & Alice are buried beside each other in the old Judson Baptist Church Cemetary, located on top of the hill behind the present church building.
